The Healthcare e-Academy - Winner of Medilink's Partnership with the NHS Award!

The Healthcare e-Academy were thrilled when it was announced that they had won the Partnership with the NHS Award - one of the six awards to be given at the Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Healthcare Business Awards 2010.

The event took place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds and the awards ceremony showcased the achievements of deserving healthcare companies from across the region.

The Healthcare e-Academy is an online training provider for healthcare workers and had applied for the award following the success of their Catheteration e-learning course, which they had developed in conjunction with Bradford and Airedale PCT. Nurse Consultant Kath Wilkinson led on the project, and her and her team undertook the research and compilation of relevant, up to date and appropriate information to go into the training course. Thanks to their expertise, the Healthcare e-Academy was able to develop a course that was not only gratefully received by Bradford and Airedale PCT, but by other organisations nationally. It also receiving RCN accreditation.

The Healthcare e-Academy were one of three companies to be short-listed for the Partnership with the NHS award, and were delighted when they were announced the winners! Judith Clarkson, Divisional Director, and Heather Ashley, Member Support Administrator, were there to collect the award. Judith gave a speech, thanking Kath and her team, without whom this achievement would not have been possible.

Also speaking at the event, Managing Director of Medilink Y&H, Kevin Kiely, said: “Today’s event clearly highlights the buoyancy of the Health Technologies sector, and specifically the continued success and innovative capacity of Yorkshire Health Technology companies. In the present economic climate it is reassuring to see the achievements of companies on show  - many of which confirmed the importance of bringing businessmen, academics and clinicians together to develop the technologies and industries of tomorrow.”

The Healthcare e-Academy greatly appreciates all the work that Medilink put into organising the event and thank them for allowing their success to be recognised and commended.
